The British Transport Police (BPT) have announced that a man has died after being hit by a train near Bletchley yesterday afternoon.

A spokesman for the BPT said: “BTP officers attended lines between Milton Keynes and Bletchley stations on Monday March 18, following reports that a man had been hit by a train. Thames Valley Police Officers also attended the incident, which was recorded to the BTP at 4.22pm. Officers are treating it as non-suspicious. Medics attended, but the man was pronounced dead on the scene. Officers are currently trying to find out the identity of the man and inform next of kin.”

The incident, combined with overhead wire problems, forced severe delays for those travelling to and from London.
